IT after COVID-19

The RTO mandates ending WFO were always coming.  Few people have the discipline to work from home in any capacity for any length of time.  The thought that people could sustain that long term was fanciful.  Luckily for schools, WFO was a limited time offering.  Sadly, the cyber threats and business needs of the WFO era have added significant insurance requirements for everyone.  Staff and client training, network, device, and data security programs, and a plethora of hardware, software, and subscriptions to meet those requirements are now on the forefront of business leaders' minds.

Schools received grants and support for new network and end user devices that would have taken a decade to acquire.  The ongoing management and replacement cycles for those have already been put on chopping blocks 1 year post COVID.  Add on the cybersecurity requirements that ratchet tighter every year and it becomes clear that planning and budgeting for future tech needs to be a priority.
